Updates! Flickr, Maps of Open mics, and lots more!

JerseyMic.com is coming up on being live for 2 months and we are EXPLODING!

JerseyMic.com is EXPLODING!

JerseyMic.com is EXPLODING!

Thanks to the readers of the blog, we have been expanding way past expectations. The newest additions are:

  1. The Flickr Account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/38892591@N08/ If you want to catch the photos from the open mics in one convenient location, check out JerseyMic.com’s Flickr stream! We’re testing using it for most of our photos! It’s speeding up the site and people are loving it.

  2. The Google Map of Open Mics: You can now see where every open mic is located on our custom Google map of open mics! http://jerseymic.com/index.php/map-of-open-mics/ Each pinpoint location contains a link to the review for that open mic, and the list is only growing!

  3. The New Look! You’re looking at it now, and it’ll only get better. Contact me if you think you can do better, or if you have any comments on it!

  4. Increased YouTube videos! Check out our Youtube channel, we’re putting more content up with every open mic!

  5. Our new partnership with VistaPrint.com! With at least one hundred hours of work into JerseyMic.com, we’ve earned a whole $1.24 in ad-revenue. While JerseyMic IS a labor of love, it’s also labor. Ordering business cards, flyers, and more is cheapest at VistaPrint anyway (where JerseyMic gets its stuff) and you can get a considerable discount through this link (versus using a brick-and-mortar store) and their quality is top-notch!

  6. 25% to 75% OFF All Products at VistaPrint
(Let us know that you ordered through that link (or any banner on our site), and we’ll make sure to help give you a shoutout!)

  7. Interviews with local artists are in the works!

Keep checking out JerseyMic.com! We were at Gregorio’s on Wednesday, with pictures soon, as well as pictures from last night at Alternative Soul!

Also!

We’re going to be having a PARTY in the future to celebrate! Keep your eyes peeled for updates!

Gregorio’s Market

is located in Mays Landing, NJ and hosts a brand new open mic on Wednesdays. The address for Gregorio’s is 901 Boulevard Route 50 Mays Landing 08330. The open mic starts at 6:30pm. It is hosted by Sarah Bucknam.

The website for Gregorio’s Market is what you might guess it would be: GregoriosMarket.com

Like the name implies, it’s a market. It has fresh produce and food for sale. But the open mic is held in the newly constructed cafe, located off to the side of the store. It is a cafe and bakery, so feel free to pick up some pastries.

TUNES AGAINST TURMOIL 2: THE MEGA POST

It’s all over. Lots of money has been raised. Tunes Against Turmoil 2 (Or Tunes Against Turmoil II) has been a great success and it’s been over for days now. Every post is complete, and just about everyone involved is resting now. In case you missed it, or if you just wanted an easy listing of what each post did, here it goes:

The first post– explains the goals of Tunes Against Turmoil 2 and the pictures were of people there and events going on

The second post– explains more of what people did, along with the Committee of Conscience table, Dr. Jerry Ehrlich, and Leon Sangster’s poem, “What Courage with Ink and Blood Spilt”

The (intermediate) post– a link to a YouTube video of all of the pictures from the event (made by JerseyMic.com). Unfortunately, Google cut out the song I had in the background. How does everyone else get away with it?

The third post– was the first one to cover bands from the event. Total Failure, Class 6, and Ocean the Legend

The fourth post– was the last coverage posting and covered Marc Ribler, My Name is August, and Alex Siniari & Christian Glomb

That’s all folks.

It was a short little time because it was so loose. Like it was said in the review, Storm on Mondays is run by Jeff Conoway and is a loose, fun open mic. Definitely go check it out if you’re a little more interested in a good time, rather than showing the world your new song. You can do that too here, but don’t expect everyone to be very serious.
