So you’ve been waiting for this one.
It’s okay. Everyone has. Tunes Against Turmoil 2 used music and games to help raise money for Doctors Without Borders in order to help the situation in Darfur. We met with the following performers:
- Total Failure
- Class 6
- The Pedestrians
- Ocean the Legend
- Marc Ribler
- My Name Is August
- Alex Siniari & Christian Glomb
Shoutouts to the other performers who I didn’t get to meet. “Secret Skills”, “Shallow Bay”, and “Whiskey Train” are listed on the brochure. Sorry guys!
Here’s what we DID get!
The first band to play was Total Failure (myspace.com/t0talfailure)
Their members are (in order from left to right)
- Fish Ludy – Lead guitar/vocals.
- James Tucker – Drums/backup vocals.
- Jesse Campanell – Bass/Slapstick.
From their myspace, you can listen to “There’s So Much More“, “Vantage Point“, and “Divided We Stand“.
The next band was Class6 (myspace.com/officialclass6)
These guys had an impressive set. They were the third band that played, just as the sun was really started to burn everyone up. From their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/officialclass6,
“During the month of September 2007, six talented musicians came together to form the group Class 6. Each member plays an essential role in the group, collectively making the perfect ingredients for success. They grew up admiring the baility of artists, such as Michael Jackson, to make music that transcends gender, race, and generations. Thse artists made timeless music that appealed to the mass public…Dedicate and determined, the group is currently hard at work on their first studio album, readying their emergenece in the music industry, and establishing themselves as a force to be recokned with.”

Class6
The members are (in order from left to right):
- Harry Markhorst – Basist
- Tony Le
- James Logan – Guitarist
- Kyle Hall – Keyboardist/Producer
- Chris Bell – Vocalist
- Dan Benevents – Drummer
Following Class 6 was The Pedestrians (myspace.com/pedestrianmusic)

The Pedestrians
These guys were a blues-playing band, and their myspace is available here: http://www.myspace.com/pedestriansmusic. They rocked and played a strong blues set. The preceded Leon Sangster, who we covered in the last installement of Tunes Against Turmoil 2.
Ocean the Legend played next
They were a huge hit! You can find their MySpace here at http://www.myspace.com/oceanthelegend
From left to right, their names are,
- Chris Markley – Bass
- Dave Rettinger – Vocals/Guitar
- Jon Weiss – Piano/Vocals
- Ray Beck – Drums/Vocals
From their MySpace,
“Ocean the Legend rose from the smoke to encase the ideas of musicians Dave Rettinger, Jon Weiss, and Ray Beck to aspire new works at some distance from their personal, and professional goals, both in music and life. …While the band encompasses a wide variety of playing styles throughout their different tracks ranging from fast pumping grooves that take your tapping foot hostage to soothing and easy-listening ballods, the lyrics give its demographic of listeners a strong sense of geniality easy to relate to.”
That’s all for this one.
