Front of Sherlock's
Here’s what happened on Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 at Sherlock’s Books & Cafe. Host Ray Tyler (Host of Alternative Soul, reviewed here) started the night off with some jokes and mature discussion topics:

In case you didn’t read the overview of the night, you can check it out here. It’s every Tuesday and it’s primarily poetry based. It’s also an Adult night, so don’t bring children. Ray also started off the open mic with his poem, “The Truth 2.0″, shown in video at the bottom of the post.
Then Jack Bursen came up and announced that he hosts an open mic at Borders every third Thursday. He then performed some of his own original poetry:
- “If Only”
- “Why”
- “The Nature of Music”
- “Summer’s Day”
- “Gifts”

Jack Bursen
Ondrea Siniari came up after and continued with some of her own poetry

Then, continuing with the poetry vibe, Bruce Williams, of Harmony Publishing, came up and performed an Untitled piece along with two of his other original poems.

Michelle Mosely followed Bruce and read
- “No Nonsense”
- “Hood Approved”

Stan Schwertly came up after and played the first musical pieces of the night,
- “Mercedes Benz”
- “Don’t Let Me Down”
And after, Sarah Bucknam (host of Gregorio’s Open Mic night, available review here) sang “Wore Me Down”

Sarah Bucknam
Valerie Hansen came up after and did some of her own comedy:

After Valerie finished, Alex Siniari came up and informed everyone of his work on his upcoming album. You can read more about what he’s up to on his blog, http://alexsiniari.blogspot.com/
Alex performed:

Then the owners of the joint, Ron and Susan O’Toole came up and played “Spirit’s Eyes”

And then Ron followed it up with his very own “How Can I Make You Get It?”, a joke regarding a girl who didn’t understand already-understandable lyrics:

And finally, a rapper simply named “S” came up and rapped to his own CD. The track was titled “What is it, Girl?”

And as promised, Ray Tyler’s “The Truth 2.0″ (explicit; mature only)
